This costume, called a kroj, is from the eastern European region of Morovia. The blouse is embellished with lace and a neck ruff reminiscent of costumes worn in the courts of ancient royalty. The black vest is embroidered with flowers and is worn with a full gathered apron and a "skirt". The skirt is a lace-trimmed apron worn backwards and tied in the front. The actual apron has a wider lace and ribbon ties that wrap around to the front.
An unmarried woman wears a wreath of flowers with ribbons. A young man's hat is decorated with feathers; each feather stands for a girlfriend. When the young man marries, the feathers are "clipped" to shorten them.
